本专业主要培养掌握扎实的化学、化工、材料等学科基础知识,具有轻化工产品制备与应用的基本理论和工程实践能力,能在轻化工及相关领域从事工业生产、工艺设计、科学研究、技术管理、新产品开发和质量控制等工作的高级轻化工专业技术人才。
本专业学生主要学习轻化工程与工艺等方面的基本理论和基本知识,接受化学化工与轻化工实验技能、工程实践、计算机应用、科学研究与工程设计方法的基本训练,具有对生产过程进行革新改造、对新过程进行开发设计和新产品研制的基本能力,主要在制浆造纸工程和精细化工方面具有特长,并对化学工程与工艺、皮革工程、发酵工程等方面有所了解。
1. 具有本专业所需的数学、物理、化学等自然科学基础,较强的计算机应用能力和外语综合能力;
2. 系统掌握轻化工单元操作基础理论、工艺原理、专业理论知识和实验技术基本技能,具有对产品进行性能分析、检测和质量控制的能力;
3. 掌握轻化工程机械设备的基本原理,具有设备选型、配套、技术改造和生产组织管理的初步能力,能够对生产过程及设备进行模拟与优化;
4. 具有轻工及化工领域新产品、新工艺、新材料、新技术研究开发的能力;
5. 掌握生产过程的技术经济分析、环境保护和综合利用的基础知识;
6. 掌握文献检索、资料查询的基本方法,具有创新意识和独立获取新知识的能力,了解本专业学科前沿和发展趋势。

化学与化工基础实验、认识实习、生产实习、计算机应用及上机实践、课程设计、毕业设计(论文)等。
主要专业实验:天然高分子化学实验、专业实验、精细化学品化学实验。
学制四年;毕业最低学分要求:170个学分。包括:必修课114学分,专业选修课26学分(专业限选课≥12学分,专业任选课≥6学分),通识选修课4学分,实践环节26学分。
